Transplanted a bunch of my Mom’s plants. From left to right: my Great-Grandmother’s Christmas Cactus that was root bound and hard as a brick, branches from the right-most cactus, a Christmas Cactus given to my Mom when I was born from my Grandma and was nearly dead, the African Violets whose pot was disintegrating, another Christmas Cactus that was getting too big, and more branches that fell off. I also tried another African Violet cutting since mine died already.

My plants in the patio were growing great until some microscopic visitors passed through. Needless to say, I was not very happy. At this point I thought I was a horrible gardener.

Stupid spider mites sucked the life right out of my Marigold that was just about ready to bloom. And I thought nothing liked Marigolds because they stink! I tried to fight them with a soapy spray but there were too many. I also thought they were just attacking the one plant but I was wrong. They destroyed everything on the table.

I also had some rooster combs growing but they also felt the wrath of the spider mites.

Where did the bugs come from? The only thing I can think of is I took some dirt from the garden outside to plant the rooster combs in since they’d be planted outside once they got a good start.

My plant obsession and collection is growing!

I acquired a cutting of a pothos vine while sitting for the neighbors’ cats. I walked in one day and this vine was on the ground with a few claw marks (good thing the cat didn’t eat it!).

I took a leaf from my Mom’s Violet and planted it in a cup in my room - my first attempt at growing African Violets.

The Spider Plant in the jar came from school. Someone tore it off a hanging plant and I attempted to save it! The other Spider plants came from my aunt. Her Spider plant is huge and I think I remember planting it with her (or else something in a similar pot) around her wedding in 1990.
